Lighthouse Learning Summer Camp 2026

Located in Longwood, near Wekiwa Springs State Park

For Ages 5-12. Open to non-students. All are welcome!

This summer, Lighthouse Learning is offering 3 unique summer experiences you can choose from for the ultimate summer of fun and fundamentals!

Creative Camp (Mon-Fri)

Our Creative Camp is designed to keep children engaged, active, and inspired through a joyful blend of fun and learning. Each week is packed with laughter, hands-on experiences, and opportunities to build friendships in a safe, nurturing environment.

Academic Tutoring (Tue & Thu Mornings)

This summer, we’ll also be offering Academic Tutoring to keep skills sharp over the summer without the pressure of a full school day. With small group learning, children rotate through engaging reading and math stations focused on phonics, vocabulary, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.

Tuesdays will be math-focused days, Thursdays will be reading-focused days.

The Best of Worlds - Choose Both!

Combine both of our summer offers with Academic Tutoring on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, with the rest of the week being filled with Creative Camp activities! You don’t have to choose between hands-on crafts, games, and field trips and brain-engaging, structured stations and teacher-led tutoring; get the best of both worlds and save!

The Story of Lighthouse Learning

At Lighthouse Learning, we believe education should meet students where they are—and guide them toward who they are becoming.

Now in our seventh year, our vision is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: children learn best when they feel safe, feel seen for who they are, are challenged at the right level, and given purpose in their learning. Every pathway we offer is designed to honor each student’s pace, strengths, and potential, while preparing them for life beyond the classroom.

We value transparency. From academics and enrichment to communication and tuition, we are thoughtful about how our school operates so families know what to expect and can plan with peace of mind. Our goal is to create a steady, nurturing environment where children feel safe, known, and challenged.

What To Know: Who Thrives at Lighthouse Learning?

Is Lighthouse Learning a special needs school?

Lighthouse Learning is not a special needs school.

We are a microschool and homeschool hybrid designed to provide:

  • personalized, mastery-based learning

  • strong academic foundations

  • character development

  • and a supportive, family-centered environment

We serve a wide range of learners, but we are not equipped to provide intensive one-to-one therapeutic or highly specialized services throughout the school day.

We share this with care and transparency so families can confidently determine if Lighthouse Learning is the right fit for their child.

How do I know if my child is a good fit for Lighthouse Learning?

Lighthouse Learning is intentionally designed for students who can thrive in a group learning environment with standard classroom support.

While we serve a wide range of learners, our model is NOT designed to provide:

  • intensive one-to-one therapeutic support

  • highly individualized intervention throughout the entire school day

We believe honesty creates trust, and we share this with care so families can make a confident, informed decision.

Do you support gifted students?

Yes—gifted learners truly thrive at Lighthouse Learning.

Because we are not limited by traditional grade-level pacing, students are able to:

  • move ahead in areas of strength

  • engage in deeper, more meaningful learning

  • participate in project-based and real-world applications

  • explore leadership, creativity, and entrepreneurship

We believe gifted students should be challenged, inspired, and given the space to grow into their full potential.

How Does Lighthouse Learning Determine Admissions & Student Readiness?

As part of our application process, we thoughtfully consider:

  • Academic readiness through various assessments

  • A student’s ability to engage successfully in a group setting and:

    • Ability to regulate behavior with typical classroom supports

    • Responsiveness to teacher guidance and redirection

    • Age-appropriate independence with toileting and self-care

    • Respectful, cooperative interactions with peers

    • Ability to participate safely in a group learning environment

In some cases, we may recommend a trial day visit to ensure the best possible fit for your child.

Do you accept students with ADHD?

Yes. While we support attention and focus challenges, our model is built around a collaborative, small-group setting, so students need to be able to participate in a way that allows both themselves and their peers to be successful.

We partner closely with families to support growth in these areas, but this baseline helps ensure a positive and productive experience for all students.

We support students through:

  • movement and outdoor time

  • hands-on, engaging lessons

  • clear routines and structure

  • and strong teacher relationships

At the same time, we want to be thoughtful and transparent about fit.

Students must be able to:

  • demonstrate growing independence with work habits

  • engage in learning tasks with teacher support

  • follow classroom expectations and routines

  • and avoid behaviors that significantly disrupt the learning environment for others
